PRIVACY / PLAIN LANGUAGE
Less data is
better data.
Zentr is a collection of separate projects, so the exact behavior differs. The shared preference is simple: keep work on your device when possible and avoid collecting data just because we can.
| Project | Practical privacy model |
|---|---|
| Tools | Designed to process working data in the browser. |
| Convert | Local by default; server processing is reserved for conversions the browser cannot reasonably do. |
| Drop | New content is encrypted in the browser. The service stores short-lived ciphertext and unavoidable request metadata. |
| Fun | Self-contained interactive experiences with no account needed. |
| School | A public project hub; privacy depends on the individual project you open. |
| Status | Publishes service-health information, not private user content. |
IMPORTANT
No vague promises.
“Local” means the computation happens in your browser. “Encrypted” describes a specific protection, not invincibility. Network services still receive ordinary request metadata, and third-party infrastructure may process connection data as part of delivering a site.
If a project’s interface gives a more specific explanation, that explanation wins for that project.
